La première conférence (14h) ne sera pas technique et sera effectuée par Dan Shearer. Elle portera sur le thème suivant : "Comment l’OpenSource contribue-t-il à la performance des entreprises ?"
La seconde (15h) sera un peu plus longue, technique, et en deux parties. Dan et Jelmer aborderont ces sujets :
- "Approche généraliste de la qualité logicielle"
- "Développer en utilisant les bibliothèques logicielles de Samba 4"

[1] Keynote Generale: Why All Modern Software is Bad

The Modern Software Engineering company is distinguished by
successful businesses using new tools and often the latest
research methods to create products. So why is it that users
invariably agree that computers are a source of problems more
than solutions, even as software allows them to do things
previously impossible? Open Source Software is a very useful
window into the world of software quality because nothing is
hidden. Dan Shearer presents lessons learned since he started
his Open Source journey twenty years ago.
[2] Keynote Technique: A General Approach to Improving Software Quality
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Engineering students of all kinds are told that there are two
keys to better quality results: better methodology and
discipline, and better testing. Unfortunately the complexity in
our networked software world is increasing faster than any
improvements to methodology or testing can absorb. Dan Shearer
presents some techniques for encapsulating the complexity with
some reasons as to why they are not widely used.
[3] Development using the Samba 4 libraries
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Samba 4 is the upcoming next version of Samba, an implementation of
SMB/CIFS and related protocols for POSIX systems. It was started in 2003
as an effort to improve the file system layer in Samba, but the main
goal has since changed to support for being an Active Directory domain
controller. As part of this process, the internals of Samba have been
cleaned up and are now installable as libraries that can be used by
other free software projects.
This talk will give a short introduction to the various protocols
implemented by Samba 4 and will explain how the implementations of these
protocols are exposed for use by other applications, such as OpenChange.
